What is mindfulness?

'Mindfulness is the awareness that emerges through paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgementally, to the unfolding of experience moment by moment.'

Mindfulness is a way of being fully present and awake appreciating every moment of life, whatever arises. Mindfulness can successfully tackle anxiety, stress, exhaustion and depression. By practicing and applying mindfulness each day, we can become more aware and accepting of our thoughts and feelings, and appreciate how we can choose to respond to them. It can help us to feel calm and provide an inner balance as we encounter each moment with awareness, contentment, enjoyment and happiness.

Mindfulness Retreat Day

Sunday 12th November 2017, 10.15am to 13.45pm, Insole Court, Llandaff
Cost: £25 

An opportunity to switch off from the outer noise and experience Mindfulness as a way to replenish and revitalise your energy in the beautiful environment of Insole Court in Llandaff.

The day will combine different Mindfulness activities, to ignite or deepen your Mindfulness practice as an invaluable tool for your every day life.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction 8-week course

Wednesdays, 7 to 9pm, 25 April to 20 Jun 2018 (excluding half term week 30 May), plus practise day on Sunday 10 Jun, 12 to 5pm, Insole Court, Landaff, Cardiff

Cost: £150 (concessions £95)

This course is for anyone wanting to improve their wellbeing and reduce stress and anxiety, and for business professionals interested in bringing mindfulness into their workplace to help others in the future.

Mindfulness Training Course for Senior Leaders in Schools and Colleges

Wednesday 6th December 2017, 9am to 4pm, Insole Court, Llandaff 
Cost: £95 (incl. lunch & refreshments)

The purpose of this one-day Mindfulness Taster session is to give participants a flavour of what mindfulness is and to learn some mindfulness meditation practices.

Thursdays, 4.15 to 4.45pm, 25 Jan to 22 Mar 2018 (excluding half term week, 22 Feb), Hendre Junior School, St Cenydd Road, Caerphilly

Cost: £80 (course is part-funded by the NUT and includes the cost of the course book, CDs and handouts)

Open to all staff in schools and a requirement for anyone wishing to train to teach Mindfulness to children and young people.
