Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Life

About MBCT for Life

Mindfulness -based Cognitive Therapy for Life (MBCT-L) is an 8 - week course taught for 2 hours per week. It has been adapted from Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Depression [Teasdale, Segal, & Williams, 2013)   which has been shown to be  effective in numerous randomised control trials and is recommended as a treatment for recurrent depression by bodies such as the National Institute for Health Care and Excellence (NICE).

Mindfulness is deeply rooted within ancient wisdom and practices, whereas cognitive behavioural methods were developed within modern psychological science. The combination of both has brought great alleviation of suffering and empowers people to flourish and live their lives in a more fulfilling way.

The course is taught in a suitable and safe environment, in a group of no more than 15 people. The course consists of 8 weekly 2-hour sessions. You will be encouraged to do 30-40 minutes of daily home practice.
